Hi, I’m Lisa,

I live in Phoenix Arizona and have two grown children that I am very close with. I am a special education teacher and love my job so much that I am currently pursuing a masters degree in the field as well. 

In my down time I love to make and create new things. Whether it’s furniture or t-shirts I have always had that creative mindset. My sister and I love to travel with our families and we actually don't want to hurt each other at the end of our trips so why not take the leap and share our fun times abroad. 

Hopefully we can share some tips or tricks that can help others on their journey as amateurs in the same interests we explore.

Let me tell you how I got to this crazy place of living in Italy part time. 

I like to take a trip overseas once a year but when COVID happened that stopped. I realized that my list of destinations was potentially longer than the lists of years I would be able to travel in good health. I am 53 now and healthy but I have seen others health take a turn quickly. Who knows how long it will be easy for me to travel…15, 20 years? I have always had a goal to spend the whole summer in a new country. Up until now it was only a couple of weeks per year. Italy kept calling me back.and felt like home. 

Living in California, Europe isn’t a quick hop. What if I bought a house in Italy so I have a home base to travel from for half the year and work for the other half! Sign me up. So that is where this adventure all started. I wanted a house for my family to vacation and selfishly wish they would fall in love with this adventure as well. 

My sister was all in. Well as in as she could be until she can retire. She is a teacher so, for now, I get her summers and school vacations. My son is recently married and they will be starting a family soon. I hope to have them visit often.
